Frequently asked questions
Zirconia or porcelain-fused-to-metal?
Zirconia is more aesthetic and does not cause grey gums. The choice depends on the tooth's position and your bite.
Will my teeth be shaved down to stumps?
No. Only about 1–1.5 mm is removed for the crown's thickness, and where less reduction is enough, veneers may be recommended instead.
Do zirconia crowns stain?
No. Zirconia and its ceramic surface do not stain from tea, coffee or smoking.
